I love Finding New Products….

CHEAP PRODUCT RAVE!!

I picked up this .99 cent Andrea Face Spa Masque at CVS as a substitute yesterday because my LUSH Cosmetic Catastrophe had expired, and put it on while soaking in a bubble-bath.

Moisture Intense Masque contains Sweet Almond Oil, high in Essential Fatty Acids and an excellent source of Vitamin E as well as other vitamins and minerals essential for healthy, younger looking skin. CoQ10 rejuvenates cells and helps to neutralize harmful free radicals.

LOVE!!!!

Of course, if you don’t want to spend the .99 cents, you can make your own masque at home….

Banana Bread Masque:

½ really ripe mashed banana – moisturizing
2 Tbsp. ground oats – soothing
milk or cream, add as necessary – softening
pinch nutmeg – antiseptic
2 Tbsp. whole wheat flour – antioxidant

Whip ingredients together, adding cream or oat flour as necessary to get a smooth, paste-like consistency. Spread on clean face and leave for 5-10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and pat dry.

I am TOTALLY making this when I get home.  Though, with MY luck, my husband probably ate all of the banana’s in the house…..

THIS ARTICLE, where I got the recipe is pretty cool.  There are a couple of scrub and oat/milk bath recipes on there too.

Gonna Hafta Face It, I’m Addicted To LUSH

Posted in Product Raves on November 18, 2007 by kerriedub

Please…someone help me. Hi, my name is Kerrie and I’m addicted to Lush Cosmetics. Do they have a support group for this? My husband is going to ban me from going there soon. It doesn’t help that there are THREE locations in Massachusetts that I can go to, the closest one being right smack dab in the middle of Harvard Square. To prove that I am as addicted as I say I am, here is a run down of the products that I have bought from there (some of them 2 or three times)

About LUSH (from the website)

aobs.jpgAngels On Bare Skin – LOVE THIS. I love the smell, and the exfoliating properties. I use this in the shower, since it can mess up your sink.

baby-face.jpgBaby Face – I use this to remove my makeup at night. It leaves my skin so soft!

imperialis.jpgImperialis – This is the first moisturizer that I picked up from there. I got it because I tend to get oily in my t-zone, and that’s exactly what this is for. Since, it is getting colder here I had to switch to……

cosmetic-lad.jpgCosmetic Lad – This states it is ’skin care for the boys’, but the saleslady helped me pick it out for my dry patches. The other moisturizers might have been to greasy for my skin type. So far, it works great!

eec.jpgEnchanted Eye Cream – who DOESN’T need an eye cream? I am always on the hunt for the perfect (yet inexpensive) one. I JUST got this yesterday, so we shall see how it works out…..

buffy.jpgBuffy – This is one of their body butter bars. You use it in the shower by rubbing it on your skin away from the shower stream, then rinsing it off. It makes my skin SO SMOOOOOTH.

nutts.jpgNutts – One of their massage bars. It smells just like honey. I use it as a body moisturizer and the smell stays pretty much all day. Other massage bars that I have purchased are……

wicci-magic-muscles.jpgWicci Magic Muscles - I love the smell of this. Really clove-ish and cinnamon. I have had people comment on it when I am around them, most of them saying ‘what is that cinnamon smell…mmmmmm’. Of course, I say ‘Oh…it’s ME!’. The ONLY thing that I do not like about this one is the beans in it. They tend to drop all over the floor when the bar gets used alot.

soft.jpgSoft Coeur (The Honeymooner) – OH-EM-GEE. This is the sweetest smelling thing EVER. It smells like white chocolate and honey. I actually have it on right now – just out of the bathtub.

dreamtime.jpgDreamtime - One of their bath melts. You melt it in a hot bath, and the oils from it soften and moisturize your skin. Great for a bath just before bedtime!

catastrophe.gifCatastrophe Cosmetic – One of their fresh hand-made masks. They are so fresh that they have an expiration date AND cannot be sold online. I loved this one. I put it on while I soaked in the bathtub. I got about 5-6 uses out of this one tub. The expiration date is November 26th, and I have about one application left. I can’t wait to try the other ones! Shhhhh….don’t tell my husband. I said that I am all stocked up until after X-Mas.

bofa.jpgBreath Of Fresh Air – Love the smell of this. The ’spray face’ thing is a little hard to get used to, but I love the way that it makes my skin feel. I use it right before moisturizing when my skin is still a little dewy from it.

So…there you have it – my new addiction. Hey – it COULD be worse! Most of their products are moderately priced. It’s just that every time I go in there, I want to buy EVERYTHING!!!!!

I know my mind is made up, so put away your makeup….

Product Rave Time….

Here are some of my latest finds…

potion.jpgUrban Decay Primer Potion:  I have a SERIOUS problem getting eyeshadow to stay put on my eyes, and not crease.  Usually, by the afternoon my carefully applied and blended eye work  is reduced to a little crease line or even non-exsistant!  I have used eyeshadow ‘de-creasers’ before, so needless to say I was really skeptical, but this REALLY works!  Even at 5:00 PM, my eyes looked exactly how they looked when I applied in the morning (save a little puffiness that comes with my age….)

12.jpgUrban Decay Eyeshadow in Smog: Urban Decay has such random names for their products.  Some of their eye shadow names include Exhaust, Half Baked, Last Call, Roach, Stalker and Mildew.  The name ”smog” is a little off putting, but the copper/bronze color of this eyeshadow is amazingly eye popping.  It has just enough shimmer, without being overpowering or teenage glitter barbie-ish.  I have been using it practically every  day since I got it.  It’s my new staple!

pd_tinted_glow_enhancer_group.jpgThe Body Shop Glow Enhancer: I have stopped using foundation, as I think that it seriously ages me.  NOT the result I am looking for these days.  I’m really into tinted moisturizer, and I am in constant search of the perfect one.  I like this one because it also adds a little healthy glow.  I only use it on the apples of my cheeks (being careful to stay AWAY from my t-zone because of the ‘glow’ that is already there), under my eyes and maybe a little down the bridge of my nose.  I doesn’t feel heavy, and looks natural, evening out my skin tone.  I still want to give the Stila Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer a try though!
